Achakzai Invites PM Sharif to Join Feb 8 Protest, Urges Calm Among Public

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai has invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to participate in the nationwide protest scheduled for February 8, calling on citizens to express their rights responsibly and avoid getting carried away by emotions.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Achakzai appealed to the public to express their anger over the denial of their mandate by closing shops across the country, while maintaining peace and order.

He emphasized that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should join the day of mourning and protest to demonstrate solidarity on the pressing issues facing Pakistan.

“We appeal to the people to control their emotions during the protest and avoid any kind of provocation or violence,” he said, underlining the importance of a disciplined demonstration.

Highlighting the current challenges in the country, Achakzai said that Pakistan is facing complex internal and international situations, and the younger generation is already experiencing the consequences of hard work and previous efforts. He warned against actions that could embroil the nation in unnecessary disputes at the international level.

He clarified that the February 8 protest is meant to assert the public’s right to their mandate, but it must be conducted responsibly and with restraint to ensure peace and stability throughout the country.
