Cambridge confirms AS-Level maths exam leak, says next steps under review

Cambridge International Education (CIE) has confirmed reports that an AS-Level mathematics exam paper was leaked during the ongoing June 2026 examination session in Pakistan. The organisation said it is aware of the issue and is conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened and what actions should follow.

According to reports, the leaked paper was from the AS-Level mathematics exam, which allegedly circulated on social media ahead of the scheduled test. The development has sparked widespread concern among students and parents about fairness and transparency in the examination process.

CIE stated that it will share further guidance with schools and exam centres during or after the exam series, depending on the findings of its investigation. Officials emphasised that any decision—such as re-exams, grade adjustments, or other measures—will be made after assessing the scale and impact of the leak.

This is not the first time Cambridge exams have faced such issues in Pakistan. In 2025, parts of multiple A-Level papers were leaked, leading to corrective actions including resits and adjusted grading.

The current incident has once again raised questions about exam security and the credibility of international qualifications in the country, with students awaiting clarity on how their results will be affected.
