A senior Iranian official has issued a strong warning to the United States, stating that any decision to resume war would result in severe and “devastating” consequences.
Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and current member of the Expediency Council, outlined possible scenarios in the event of renewed conflict. He said that if the US resumes military action, the impact would be significant and damaging for American forces.
Rezaei suggested that future clashes could focus on Iran’s southern coastal regions and extend to key areas, including central parts of the country. He also warned that Tehran could respond with intensified actions, including targeting strategic locations and escalating military pressure.
He further claimed that US military strategies have largely failed so far, and any new offensive—especially a ground operation—could result in heavy losses, including the capture of American troops.
The Iranian official also dismissed US efforts to block Iran’s oil exports, asserting that Tehran has multiple ways to bypass restrictions and maintain its energy trade.
These remarks come amid a fragile ceasefire between the two countries, brokered with international mediation, including efforts by Pakistan. However, tensions remain high, and the possibility of renewed conflict continues to loom over the region.
Analysts warn that any escalation could further destabilize the Middle East, disrupt global oil supplies, and deepen the ongoing geopolitical crisis.
