PTI Chairman Gauhar Defends Party, Warns Against Dragging Army into Politics

PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar addressed the National Assembly on Wednesday, condemning terrorism and warning against politicizing the Pakistan Army.

Speaking during the parliamentary session, Gauhar said, “Wherever a terrorist is, he is our enemy. In just a few months, we have held a hundred funerals.” He criticized recent remarks linking PTI to terrorism, calling such accusations baseless and labeling those making them as traitors.

The PTI leader also took aim at Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, accusing him of playing divisive roles and undermining the judiciary. Gauhar said, “Khawaja Asif played the role of the Yousaf brothers. If anyone gave interviews against the army, it was you. You made statements against the judiciary and even on Siachen. In the International Court of Justice, your statements were highlighted.”

Gauhar further alleged that Asif’s tenure saw changes to 85 laws and the creation of a new court, actions he claimed lacked public respect. He emphasized that PTI stands firmly against terrorism and that the army should not be dragged into political conflicts.

The chairman concluded his remarks with a message directed at India, reinforcing that PTI remains committed to national security and condemns terrorism in all forms.
