POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken strict notice of the worsening traffic situation in Karachi and directed authorities to take immediate corrective measures.
The CM expressed his concern over severe congestion on II Chand Regar Road and MT Khan Road, urging the DIG Traffic to restore smooth traffic flow without delay. Additional personnel have been ordered to be deployed, particularly during Iftar hours, to manage traffic effectively and assist vehicles stuck near key locations, including Jinnah Bridge and Shaheen Complex.
Murad Ali Shah emphasized that traffic police officers should be stationed at critical intersections to continuously monitor the flow of vehicles. Illegal parking obstructing traffic must be addressed immediately, he added.
Furthermore, the CM instructed authorities to publicize alternative routes to provide citizens with better travel options and ease congestion. The directions reflect the provincial government’s focus on improving urban mobility and reducing commuter hardships in Pakistan’s largest city.
