The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is currently in session to sight the Shawwal moon, marking a key step in determining the date for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations across Pakistan.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad is presiding over the meeting, which includes members of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, as well as representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO.
The committee is collecting reports and evidence from across the country regarding the visibility of the Shawwal moon. After evaluating all observations, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will issue the official announcement confirming whether the moon has been sighted or not.
The decision is crucial for setting the official date for Eid-ul-Fitr, which is celebrated with prayers, feasts, and social gatherings throughout Pakistan. Communities across the country await the committee’s announcement to begin preparations for the festival.
