Iran Allows Two Pakistani Ships to Transit Strait of Hormuz Amid Regional Tensions

Iran has granted special permission for two Pakistani ships to transit the Strait of Hormuz, shipping sources confirmed on Saturday. The PNSC vessel Multan and the chartered ship P Aliki have departed the strait and are expected to reach Pakistan by March 31.

The P Aliki is transporting 85 million liters of crude oil, while the Multan is also carrying crucial cargo. Both ships had been stranded in the Persian Gulf for over a month due to ongoing regional tensions stemming from the US-Israeli war on Iran.

Shipping officials noted that the vessels began their journey toward the strait from locations near Gulf countries yesterday after receiving clearance from Iranian authorities.

Pakistani ships have previously navigated the Strait of Hormuz with special permission from Iran, reflecting ongoing maritime coordination in the region despite volatile geopolitical conditions. The passage ensures continuity in Pakistan’s crude oil supply chain amid heightened regional security risks.

Experts say such clearances are critical for energy security in Pakistan, allowing timely delivery of crude shipments and preventing potential economic disruptions caused by extended delays in the Persian Gulf.

Officials in Pakistan continue to monitor the situation closely, coordinating with regional authorities to ensure safe navigation for the vessels until they reach domestic ports.
