US media highlights Pakistan’s active role in facilitating Middle East peace amid ongoing conflict

An American newspaper report has praised Pakistan for its active engagement in diplomatic efforts to restore peace during the ongoing war in the Middle East.

According to the report, Pakistani leaders have been employing “telephone diplomacy” to facilitate dialogue and conflict resolution. They are reportedly maintaining close contacts with Donald Trump and Masoud Peshmerga, as well as with leaders across Tehran, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Istanbul, and Brussels.

The American report highlighted that Shahbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir have been continuously engaged in restoring peace in the region through direct and indirect contacts.

Indirect contacts leading to potential direct talks

The report cited German Foreign Minister Johann Wiedefohl, who confirmed that indirect communication channels between the US and Iran have been established. Preparations are underway for a direct meeting between the two nations, which may potentially take place in Pakistan.

The coverage underscores Pakistan’s emerging role as a key diplomatic mediator in the Middle East, leveraging its relationships with regional and global powers to reduce tensions and promote stability.
