Iran has reaffirmed that its missile program remains a non-negotiable red line, warning that any military miscalculation by foreign powers will be met with decisive retaliation.
Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, told Arab TV in an interview that Iran’s military is on high alert. He cautioned that any foreign misstep regarding the program would carry “a heavy price.”
Shamkhani also emphasized that negotiations are only feasible if they are grounded in realism and avoid “unnecessary demands.” He reiterated that Iran considers its missile capabilities a core national security issue and is unwilling to compromise on them.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions in the region over Iran’s missile development, which has been a focal point in discussions between Tehran and Western powers. Shamkhani’s remarks underscore Iran’s firm stance on maintaining its defense capabilities while leaving the door open for negotiations under conditions deemed acceptable by Tehran.
