The Tragic Incident: The Lahore police have registered a criminal case and taken multiple suspects into custody following a devastating roof collapse at a private tuition centre in the Kahna area on Tuesday, June 30. The sudden structural failure resulted in the tragic deaths of 14 children and left six others severely injured. Emergency responders from Rescue 1122 and the Edhi Foundation worked late into the evening to pull the victims from beneath the heavy debris.

The Lethal Negligence: According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Kahna police station by Lahore Metropolitan Corporation official Kashif Aslam, the tuition centre was operating out of a residential house owned by Rehan Faizan, Usman Umer, and Muhammad Siddique, where Rehan’s wife, Amila, conducted classes. On the day of the incident, the owners and a construction worker named Umair were actively pouring a heavy layer of soil onto the roof. Because the building was already in a highly dilapidated condition, the added weight caused the TR-girder roof to buckle and collapse directly onto the students below.
