President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have officially recognized the incredible bravery of Liaqat, a local shepherd who laid down his life to prevent a potential massacre in Attock’s Jand tehsil.

The Heroic Intervention

On Monday, while grazing his goats near a critical security post on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border, Liaqat noticed a suspicious man loitering in the area.

  • The Confrontation: Sensing danger, the shepherd didn't look the other way. He approached the stranger and demanded identification.

  • The Ultimate Sacrifice: Realizing he had been intercepted, the terrorist detonated his explosive vest. Liaqat was martyred in the blast, but his quick thinking and fearlessness prevented the bomber from reaching his intended target—a move that undoubtedly saved countless lives.
