PTI Islamabad Proposes Roadmap for Imran Khan’s Release

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Islamabad chapter has submitted a comprehensive roadmap aimed at securing the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been detained since May 2023, and restoring democratic stability, party leaders said on Tuesday.

According to Aamir Mughal, the plan, presented to Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, outlines actionable steps to overcome the current political challenges. He emphasized that a well-coordinated and practical strategy is essential for the movement to succeed.

“The first and foremost point is accountability within the party. Without reviewing the performance of office-bearers and ticket holders since Imran’s arrest, the movement cannot progress effectively. A transparent review and inclusion of energetic leadership can restore confidence among supporters,” Mughal said.

The chapter proposed a six-point narrative focusing on:

  1. Release of Imran Khan and all political detainees
  2. Supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law
  3. Reduction in inflation
  4. Elimination of corruption and poor governance
  5. Job creation
  6. Improvement in law and order

Mughal stressed the importance of communicating a unified message across all party levels and engaging the public through peaceful, lawful gatherings on a rotational basis across districts. Coordinated activities in other provinces were also recommended.

Youth mobilization was highlighted as a key factor, with the chapter urging constructive participation beyond social media. An effective media and communication strategy, involving influencers, responsible journalists, and grassroots workers, was also emphasized to ensure accurate messaging reaches the public.

Additionally, the PTI leadership suggested mobilizing the overseas community to amplify the movement globally and provide organizational and financial support within legal frameworks. The party’s lawyers’ wing was also recommended to be activated to strengthen legal advocacy and uphold constitutional principles through lawful means.

This roadmap marks the Islamabad chapter’s formal effort to create a structured and actionable plan for advancing the party’s political objectives and achieving the release of its detained leadership.
