PTI Leaders Knew of Imran Khan’s Eye Problems Since Feb 9, Medical Report Shows

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership was reportedly aware of founder Imran Khan’s eye problems since February 9, according to party sources.

The information was conveyed to the leadership by party leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, who had been informed by Bushra Bibi about Imran Khan’s deteriorating vision. Sources claim that while Barrister Saif communicated the matter to senior PTI leaders, it was not given significant attention.

Some PTI members are reportedly dissatisfied with Imran Khan’s firm stance regarding the management of his eye condition. When contacted, both Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif declined to comment.

Medical Report Findings

The medical report, made public following an examination on February 15, 2026, by a board of ophthalmologists, detailed the condition of Imran Khan’s eyes. The board included Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan of PIMS Islamabad.

Key findings included:

  • Right eye vision: 6/24 partial without glasses; improved to 6/9 partial with glasses.
  • Left eye vision: 6/9 without glasses; improved to 6/6 with glasses.
  • Signs of retinal inflammation in the right eye.
  • Swelling of the right eye has decreased, with thickness reduced from 550 to 350 – a sign of improvement.
  • Treatment recommendations included Nivanac and Cysteine Ultra drops for both eyes, with Cosopt prescribed for the right eye only.

Continued Protests

Despite the medical report showing signs of improvement, PTI leadership continues sit-ins at Parliament House and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, pressing for further assurances regarding the treatment and care of their party founder.

The ongoing demonstrations highlight the political tensions surrounding Imran Khan’s health and the handling of his medical care.
