Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced the creation of new districts in the province during a public meeting in the Barshur area of Pishin, marking a step toward enhanced administrative efficiency and development.

Speaking at the gathering, Bugti said the Barshur area has now been elevated to district status, and the provincial government will accelerate development while strengthening local government institutions.

“All closed schools will be reopened, and the best health facilities will be provided to the people. Anyone failing to fulfill their responsibilities will face punishment,” he warned.

The Chief Minister also emphasised his commitment to personally visiting all corners of Balochistan, stating, “No one can stop me from going among my people.”

Remarks on Afghanistan and security

Bugti described Afghanistan as a “brotherly neighbouring country,” noting that Pakistan had provided support to Afghan citizens for over four decades, but the efforts had not yielded a satisfactory outcome. He reaffirmed that Afghan people are “our Muslim brothers.”

On security matters, he praised the military leadership, stating that in the presence of Field Marshal Asim Munir, no harm will come to an inch of Pakistan’s land, asserting the nation’s readiness to defend itself against any threats.

Condemnation of attacks on Iran

The Chief Minister also strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran, aligning with Pakistan’s stance on regional peace and security.

Bugti’s announcement of new districts is expected to facilitate local governance, improve public services, and bring government institutions closer to the people in remote areas of Balochistan.
