The Judicial Commission investigating the Gul Plaza tragedy on Karachi’s MA Jinnah Road has issued a public notice, calling on citizens to submit any evidence or information related to the incident.
The first meeting of the Commission, headed by Justice Agha Faisal, was held on Wednesday, with the Commissioner Karachi and the Secretary Law and Interior in attendance. The public notice outlines the terms of reference (TOR) for the investigation and emphasizes that the commission is seeking information from the public to ensure a comprehensive inquiry.
Citizens with relevant evidence can contact the Commission via email at gpi-coi@shc.gov.com before February 20. The Press Information Department (PID) has been directed to publish notices in newspapers to raise awareness about the call for evidence.
The secretariat for the Judicial Commission has been provided by Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, and is based within the Sindh High Court premises. Justice Agha Faisal also instructed the Commissioner Karachi to notify staff, including the Registrar Commission, a focal person, and experts, to support the investigation.
The Commission aims to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the Gul Plaza tragedy and ensure accountability for those responsible.
