Light Rain Continues in Karachi, Power Disruptions Feared

Light rain and drizzle continued across various parts of Karachi since last night, bringing cloudy weather and a drop in temperature to the metropolitan city.

Several key areas including II Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Old City, MA Jinnah Road, Malir, and Korangi experienced overcast conditions along with intermittent light rain. Similar weather was reported in Defence and Shah Faisal Colony, along with other neighborhoods.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the current weather system is expected to persist, with rain forecast not only in Karachi but also in several districts of Sindh until April 4. These include Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, and Qambar Shahdadkot.

The Met Office further indicated that light to moderate rainfall may also occur in Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Matiari, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, and Hyderabad, among other areas.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for K-Electric has cautioned that due to ongoing rain and wet conditions, electricity supply may be temporarily suspended in certain areas as a precautionary measure. The utility company emphasized that such shutdowns are necessary to ensure public safety and prevent electrical hazards.

The spokesperson added that power supply is restored promptly once rainfall subsides and clearance is provided by field teams on the ground.

Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions during the wet weather, as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
