Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has affirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain on high alert following recent incidents of terrorism linked to cross-border operations in Afghanistan.
Speaking to news agencies, Talal Chaudhry explained that whenever Pakistan targets terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan, terrorists often retaliate. The recent wave of terrorism, he noted, underscores the continuing links between militant groups and networks across the border.
In recent weeks, Pakistan’s security forces have successfully foiled multiple planned attacks. Dozens of suspects, including Afghan nationals, have been arrested as part of intensified search and intelligence-driven operations. These efforts have also focused on apprehending facilitators and aides of terrorist groups.
The Minister emphasized that the country’s security agencies are committed to preemptively addressing threats and maintaining readiness to respond to any potential attack. “Security forces are on high alert and ready to deal with any possible attack,” he said, highlighting the proactive measures being taken to safeguard national security.
These statements come amid ongoing operations to eliminate terrorist infrastructure and prevent cross-border infiltration, reflecting Pakistan’s sustained focus on counterterrorism.
