PTI Founder Imran Khan Will Not Order Rush to Islamabad, Says Barrister Gohar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has clarified that the party’s founder, Imran Khan, will not issue any order in the future to rush towards Islamabad.

Speaking to Geo News, Barrister Gohar said that PTI has pursued legal remedies extensively, approaching the Supreme Court 10 times and the High Court 16 times, including petitions challenging the decision of Humayun Dilawar, which the party considered illegal. He emphasized that the party continues to raise its voice in all forums, including parliament and courts.

He added that reports about any container being sent to Islamabad or preparations for an immediate march were incorrect. The founder has delegated authority to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas to make decisions regarding any negotiations or resistance, leaving the discretion to opposition leaders.

Despite this, PTI is preparing for a major protest, party sources said. A special 40-foot-long container has been made for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, which includes a seating area and a washroom, with “Freedom or Death” prominently written on it. The container is expected to serve as the main stage during the protest.

Sources added that strategy meetings have been held to discuss the location, timing, and course of action for the protest. A video has circulated showing Chief Minister Sohail Afridi inspecting the container, and PTI MNA Shahid Khattak confirmed that the container in Peshawar is ready, with Afridi at the helm.

Barrister Gohar reiterated that while preparations are ongoing, there is no immediate plan to march to Islamabad, and final decisions remain in the hands of party and opposition leadership.
