FIA Raids Karachi KMC Head Office Over Alleged Waqf Property Irregularities

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a raid at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office on Thursday in connection with alleged irregularities concerning properties owned by the abandoned Waqf Property Board.

According to sources, the Anti-Corruption Circle of the FIA launched the operation following complaints regarding discrepancies in building records maintained by KMC.

The FIA team first visited the office of Municipal Commissioner Sumaira Hussain and then proceeded to the land records room on the second floor, accompanied by KMC officials. Reports indicate that when FIA officers found the record room locked, they broke the lock and took the records into their custody for further investigation.

In a related development, a KMC employee who emerged as a witness in the probe concerning the Stock Exchange Building has been dismissed from service, according to sources.

The FIA has also set up dedicated teams, led by two assistant directors, to identify and scrutinize the properties of the abandoned Waqf Property Board. Officials stated that the investigation aims to uncover any misuse or illegal transactions associated with these properties.

This latest action is part of ongoing efforts by Pakistani authorities to investigate alleged irregularities and ensure transparency in public property management.
