A traffic officer in Taunsa Sharif faced violence after issuing a challan to a motorcyclist for violating the helmet law, police said. The incident sparked public outrage after a video of the attack went viral on social media.
According to a police spokesperson, the motorcyclist and two others tortured the traffic officer on duty, even tearing his uniform. Fortunately, members of the public intervened and prevented further harm to the officer.
The Taunsa Sharif City Police Station promptly registered a case and took action against the attackers. Three individuals involved in assaulting the officer have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
