Four family members shot dead in Islamabad suburbs, police confirm

Four members of a single family, including a woman and a teenage boy, were found shot dead in the outskirts of Islamabad on Saturday, according to police officials.

The incident took place in a residential house located in the Jhangi Syedan area, which falls near Sectors I-15 and I-18 of the capital. Authorities said the discovery was made after residents of the neighbourhood reported hearing gunshots early in the morning and immediately alerted the police.

When law enforcement teams arrived at the scene, they found four bodies lying on the first floor of the house. Two of the victims were found on separate beds, while another body was discovered on the floor. All of them had suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head, officials confirmed.

Police identified the deceased as Mula Khalil, his wife Shamim Bibi, their 14-year-old son Musa Khan, and a man named Habib Majid, who is believed to be Shamim Bibi’s brother.

The bodies were later shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

While the motive behind the killings has not yet been officially confirmed, investigators suspect that the case may be linked to an alleged honour killing.

Preliminary findings suggest that the family originally belonged to Swat, and Habib Majid had been residing in the house as a tenant for several years. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident.
