Pakistan Increases Petrol Levy by Rs26.77 per Litre

Islamabad – The government has increased the petroleum levy on petrol following a recent rise in fuel prices, pushing the total levy to Rs107.38 per litre.

According to reports citing official sources, the levy was raised by Rs26.77 per litre as part of the latest pricing adjustment. This move comes shortly after authorities revised fuel prices for the coming week.

Under the new notification, the price of petrol has been set at Rs393.35 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now cost Rs380.19 per litre.

Officials say the increase is part of ongoing fiscal measures linked to energy pricing and revenue generation. However, the decision is expected to add further financial pressure on consumers already dealing with rising inflation.

The revised rates will remain in effect for the current pricing cycle, with further adjustments expected based on global oil trends and economic conditions.
