A series of attacks by Israeli forces and settlers has left multiple Palestinians injured and caused property damage across the Hebron area of the occupied West Bank, amid a surge of state-backed violence as Israel continues its war on Gaza.
In ad-Dhahiriya, approximately 24 km southwest of Hebron, Israeli forces carried out a raid on Tuesday night, firing live and rubber-coated bullets, wounding several Palestinians, Wafa news agency reported. Many of the injuries resulted from rubber bullets aimed at civilians’ feet.
In a separate incident, four Palestinians were injured when dozens of settlers attacked the village of Khirbet Susiya in Masafer Yatta. Settlers set six structures and a car on fire, destroying property and terrorizing residents. These attacks have forced many families to flee the village, leaving only around 30 families behind.
Meanwhile, settlers under Israeli military protection raided the home of a Palestinian man in Masafer Bani Na’im. They stole 30 of his sheep, killed another, and damaged his vehicle. The man had previously been assaulted by settlers in the area.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli forces raided homes in Sinjil, assaulting residents, breaking down doors, vandalizing property, and deploying drones, stun grenades, and flares. In Anza, bulldozers began demolishing buildings and shops at the village entrance.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Palestinians in the West Bank have faced intensified military and settler violence. According to UN figures, at least 1,094 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops and settlers in the West Bank during this period.
The UN Human Rights Council recently reported that Israeli policies in the West Bank—including “systematic unlawful use of force” and demolition of Palestinian homes—appear designed to uproot communities. The report warned that these practices may constitute ethnic cleansing, with forcible transfers and settler violence aiming at permanent displacement.
The UN has documented more than 3,700 settler attacks since the war began, more than the total of the previous decade, with nearly 700 Palestinians displaced in January 2026 alone, marking the highest monthly figure since the onset of hostilities.
The attacks in Hebron and across the West Bank underscore an escalating humanitarian crisis, drawing international condemnation and renewed calls for protection of Palestinian civilians.
