POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
On his arrival at Quetta Airport, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was welcomed by the Commissioner Quetta and DIG Quetta.
During the reception, an interesting exchange occurred when the Chief Minister expressed concern over the reported arrests of his party workers. “I am more concerned about the workers than the welcome. On one hand, I am being welcomed, and on the other, our workers are being picked up,” Afridi remarked.
In response, DIG Quetta denied any arrests, stating, “We did not pick up any workers.” Members of the assembly, including MNA Adil Bazai, and other party workers were present to greet the Chief Minister at the airport.
The incident highlights ongoing tensions between political parties and local authorities in Quetta, underscoring concerns over the treatment of political workers during official visits.
