Iran War and Rising Inflation Push Trump’s Popularity to Record Low

A recent survey by NBC News indicates a significant decline in public support for US President Donald Trump, with a majority of Americans expressing dissatisfaction with his policies.

According to the poll, 63 percent of respondents said they are unhappy with Trump’s overall performance, while his approval rating has dropped to 37 percent — the lowest level recorded during his second term.

The survey also highlights strong opposition among younger Americans, with 74 percent of those under the age of 30 against further US military action against Iran.

Public criticism appears to be largely driven by concerns over the Iran conflict and economic challenges, particularly inflation. Around 66 percent of respondents said they disapprove of how Trump is handling both the war and the economy.

When asked about the direction of the country, only 33 percent of Americans believe the US is on the right track, while a clear majority of 66 percent feel it is heading in the wrong direction.

On the issue of inflation, just 32 percent expressed confidence in the administration’s policies, whereas 68 percent said they are dissatisfied with the government’s approach to rising prices.

Despite the overall decline, Trump continues to maintain relatively strong support among Republican voters, with approval standing at 83 percent. However, even within his base, support has dipped slightly compared to earlier months.

Overall backing for Trump has also decreased, falling from 58 percent to 52 percent, reflecting a broader shift in public sentiment amid ongoing political and economic pressures.
