US Submits 15-Point Proposal to Iran; Pakistan and Turkey Considered as Negotiation Venues

US proposals aimed at de-escalating the Gulf conflict reportedly include a comprehensive 15-point plan covering Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, sanctions relief, and regional security measures, according to officials familiar with the matter.

Two Pakistani and an Egyptian official, who delivered the US proposals to Tehran, told a US news agency that the plan also calls for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, monitoring Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), civilian nuclear cooperation, and a ban on Iranian support for armed groups.

A senior Pakistani official emphasized that Islamabad’s commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security remains “unequivocal and firm” while maintaining active contacts with all parties to resolve the regional crisis. The official added that US-Iran talks could be held in Pakistan as early as Friday, with Turkey also being considered as a potential venue.

Egyptian officials confirmed that the proposals aim for a ceasefire and broader regional stability. IAEA chief Rafael Grossi noted that the discussions would not be limited to nuclear issues but would also cover missiles, Iran-linked militias, and security guarantees.

A senior Iranian official told the news agency that Pakistan has formally conveyed the US proposals for a ceasefire to Tehran and reiterated Islamabad’s role as a trusted intermediary. Turkey is also playing a parallel role in facilitating dialogue and helping reduce hostilities.

The proposals signal a multi-pronged effort by international and regional actors to stabilize the Gulf, with Pakistan emerging as a key venue for potential US-Iran negotiations.
